The AMT8100 is a handheld breath alcohol tester built around a new electrochemical fuel cell sensor. The sensor measures the alcohol concentration of the breath sample accurately and has strong anti-interference ability, so readings stay consistent in real roadside conditions rather than only on a test bench.

Operation is done from a keyboard panel on the front of the unit, with a 1.44-inch colour LCD showing the result, unit, temperature and time. A one-off anti-return mouthpiece protects each person tested, and results can be sent to the portable thermal printer over Bluetooth or uploaded to a computer for record keeping.
