The WYA-2W Binocular Abbe Refractometer is a precision optical instrument designed for measuring the refractive index nD and average dispersion nF-nC of transparent or translucent liquid and solid substances. It also measures the mass fraction (Brix) of cane sugar solution, making it an essential tool for laboratories across multiple industries.
Built with a robust die-cast metal base and hardened optical glass prisms, the WYA-2W delivers reliable, long-term stability. Its binocular viewing system reduces operator fatigue during extended use, while the optical index-plate reading ensures accurate, parallax-free measurements.

1. Prepare Sample — Place 1–2 drops of transparent or translucent liquid sample on the polished surface of the refracting prism.
2. Align & Focus — Close the prism assembly and adjust the compensator and focusing eyepiece to align the boundary between light and dark fields in the reticle.
3. Read Result — Read the refractive index nD or Brix value directly from the optical scale through the binocular viewing system.
4. Clean Prism — After measurement, clean the prism surface with lens paper and approved solvent to maintain optical fidelity.
